    Act Quickly!

If you have lost your Visa debit card, it is important to act quickly to prevent unauthorized access to your account and to protect your financial assets. Here are a few steps to take if you have lost your Visa debit card:

      Important Tips to Remember

If you have lost your Visa debit card, it is important to act quickly to prevent unauthorized access to your account and to protect your financial assets.

      1.

Check your account for unauthorized transactions

After reporting your lost card to VISA and Manville Area FCU, it is a good idea to check your account for unauthorized transactions. If you notice any suspicious activity on your account, report it as soon as possible.

      2.

      Consider setting up alerts

Many credit unions offer alerts that can be set up to notify users of any unusual activity on their account. Consider setting up alerts to help you monitor your account and identify any unauthorized transactions.

      3.

      Monitor your credit reports

It is a good idea to monitor your credit reports for any unusual activity, as a lost debit card could potentially be used to open new accounts in your name. You can request a free copy of your credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) once a year.

      4.

Consider using a credit card instead

If you are concerned about the security of your debit card, consider using a credit card for online or in-person transactions. Credit cards offer more protection against unauthorized transactions than debit cards, as they are not linked directly to your checking account.

      5.

      Be cautious of phishing scams

It is important to be wary of phishing scams, which are fraudulent attempts to obtain personal information by disguising oneself as a reputable entity in an electronic communication. Be cautious of any suspicious emails or phone calls that ask for personal information or request that you log in to your account.
